Returning to form. From Day One.
Our goal is to return patients to the highest possible level of function in the shortest time, while keeping safety a priority. OFC personnel work in close communication with our surgeons and referring physicians to bring you back to health at the right pace. Physical Therapy is teamwork, and you’re the key player.
MRI. Taking a closer look.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It’s as cutting-edge as it is essential. It provides detailed pictures of internal body structures without using radioactive substances of any kind.
Here’s how it works:
1. The patient rests in a magnetic field while harmless radio waves are applied.
2. This causes the body to emit its own radio signals.
3. Those signals are picked up by a sensitive antenna and fed to a computer.
4. Detailed images of the body are produced and interpreted by radiologists for a more precise and clear diagnosis.
About our Hitachi Oasis Open MRI:
The Oasis Open MRI features a very large and comfortable patient opening with a power driven patient table that lowers to wheelchair height, while accommodating patients weighing up to 660 lbs.
When scanned on Oasis you can bring a friend or family member with you during the exam. They remain in contact with you throughout your procedure.
MAP accreditation signifies that the physicians supervising and interpreting radiological images meet certain education and training standards. The program also requires that imaging equipment is surveyed regularly by qualified medical physicists to ensure it is functioning properly and that the technologists administering the tests are appropriately certified.
MRI is convenient and safe for most patients. However, exceptions exist. A patient may not qualify for an MRI exam if they have any of the following.
- Cardiac Pacemaker
- Aneurysm Clips
- Electromechanical Aids
- Cochlear Aids
- Tens Unit
- Inferior Vena Cava Umbrellas
- Implanted Drug Infusion Devices
- Intraocular Foreign Objects
- Bullet or Shrapnel Wounds
Please alert us to any of these conditions when scheduling an appointment, and inform the technologist before your examination.
"I met the most pleasant employee, Melissa, who greeted me with a smile. She guided me through the procedure in a most friendly way. If anyone can exhibit these qualities on a Monday morning at 7:00am, she's an asset to your facility." - Yvonne B.
Preparing for an MRI
MRI exams involve no special preparation.
You can continue to eat normally and take prescribed medications as required. If possible, wear loose, comfortable clothing, free of zippers, buttons or metallic devices. Please remove metal objects: watches, eyeglasses, keys, pens, coins, jewelry, dentures and hearing aids.
The magnet can erase information on bank and credit cards, so these should be stored in the secured dressing room provided for your belongings. Also, you may be asked to change into a robe.

OFC Truly Has Your Back.
Our Back Care Center is a physical therapy-based program specializing in conditions of the spine. Overseen by Physicians, Physical Therapists and PT Assistants, we utilize the latest Medx technology to improve strength and range of motion, and bring you a renewed quality of life.
Our 9-12 week, research-proven program focuses on training, rehabilitation and reconditioning of spine structure and supporting tissue. Once the personalized sessions are completed, we teach daily exercises and activities to further strengthen your back and prevent future issues.
Medx works for muscles.
Medx equipment utilizes the “progressive overload principle” for muscle strengthening and comprehensive rehabilitation. Our machines are designed to isolate and strengthen the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine. They also safely test a patient’s isometric strength compared to age and gender norms. Your progress will be carefully measured from day one.
Our three primary goals: Increased range of motion, increased strength and decreased muscle aches. And when your goals are met, quality of life improves.
For the vast range of spinal conditions, we have four indispensable clinical Medx machines at the Center: cervical extension, cervical rotation, lumbar extension and torso rotation.
