OFC Welcomes Dr. Scott Perkinson to the Practice

Dr. Perkinson joins OFC and will start seeing patients on April 28.

Providing cutting edge surgical care to smaller communities has always been a passion of mine, and OFC’s commitment to serving the Mankato area and surrounding rural communities is a refreshing change.”

The Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Scott Perkinson to our group. He comes to OFC after practicing in Owatonna since 2013 where he also served as the Team Physician for Owatonna High School Athletics. Dr. Perkinson was Surgery Department Chair of Owatonna Hospital from 2017-2024, and started the Robotic and Same-Day joint replacement programs in 2021 utilizing the Mako robotic system.

Dr. Perkinson is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine utilizing minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques; robotic joint replacement, including knee, hip, shoulder, and reverse shoulder replacement; hand surgery; and fracture care. As an athlete himself, Dr. Perkinson understands the importance of staying active and physically fit no matter your ability level.

Dr. Perkinson now lives in the Mankato community with his wife, Anna, and two sons, Ethan and Elliot. During his free time, he enjoys car racing, mountain biking, snowboarding, wakesurfing, running, weight-lifting, and Buckeye and Vikings football.

“I’m very excited to be joining OFC this Spring. I have been providing Orthopedic care to the Southern Minnesota area for 12 years, and look forward to transitioning to Mankato and the surrounding communities. I specialize in robotic hip and knee replacement, shoulder and reverse shoulder replacement, and advanced arthroscopic techniques for sports injuries. I am dedicated to my patients and strive to provide individualized patient care plans that include non-operative and operative treatment options.”

Perkinson received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Wisconsin.
