Thomas Nelson, MD specializes in minimally invasive hip and knee replacements and orthopaedic oncology. His special interests include joint replacement revisions, knee surgery, hip surgery, hip resurfacing and arthritis care. Dr. Nelson has specialized training in direct anterior minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty, quad-sparing total knee replacements and operative treatment of cancers of the musculoskeletal system.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Dr. Nelson also completed his orthopedic residency there. He also completed an Orthopaedic Oncology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota.
